About Cellulose Acetate
What is Cellulose Acetate?
Cellulose Acetate (CA) is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastics. Hair clips made with traditional plastic are not only leaving a negative impact on the environment, but tend to be rather fragile. At Kōv Essentials, all hair clips are made with CA, allowing them to be more durable and flexible.
Derived from wood pulp + cotton fibres, CA is more heat sensitive, requiring more care than drug-store hair clips made with plastic.
What to expect from your clip
Just like how your favourite pair of jeans may stretch between washes, you might notice slight stretch in your clip's teeth overtime. This can easily be reset with a hot water bath (further instructions provided with your order).
We recommend against wearing your CA hair clips in the sun or direct heat (i.e. sauna) for extended periods of time, as they are more sensitive to heat than traditional plastics.
Kōv Essentials' clips are elevated hair accessories, requiring more TLC than drug-store clips made with plastic. We believe in full transparency and want to ensure shoppers are aware of this before purchasing their new go-to claw clip.

I have fine/thin hair and these mini clips are perfect for a half up/half down styles! Loved it so much I also bought the mini Demi clip with the bow from the ballet collection. As always the Kov clips have the perfect hold! Highly recommend!!
This clip is perfect for children’s hair or even a half up half down if your hair isn’t too thick. It’s SO cute and I LOVE the pink color
my sister gave birth during the black friday sale and OF COURSE being a new aunt to the cutest baby girl i had to get her a matching hair clip to me, she's quite literally bald at this moment so it's gonna take some time to get there but when that hair comes in ill be ready! i will say that ive used it once to do a half up style and it worked soooo good
I love the blonde tortoise color SO much, but they didn’t have it in my usual size. I have generally straight and thinning hair, so I thought I MIGHT be able to use the mini clip, which they did have in this particular color. The mini clip really is made for small girls, but I will end up using it for a half up/half down look. Still love it, but also waiting for a restock of this color in the small size.
Maybe this is a little insane of me but I really wanted a clip to match my future kid and so I got this during BF and it’s is soooo cute. So excited to one day be able to use.
